Now-a-days tea is the most popular drink all over the world. Modern man cannot pass even a day without tea. Almost all people take tea. Tea mainly grows in China, India, Japan, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Sirilanka. It grows on the slopes of hill or hilly regions. It requires excessive rain water but the rain water must not stay at the root. Tea seeds are sown in a nursery in the rainy season. The plant grows twenty to thirty feet high. Then they are pruned. There are four crops a year. The first plucking gives the best tea and the rest ones give tea of inferior quality. The preparation of tea is very easy. Tea dust or leaves are boiled in water; Sugar and milk are also mixed with it. Thus a tasteful cup of tea is made. It refreshes our body and mind. It earns a lot of foreign currency for our country.

Rich is a kind of food grain. We get it from paddy. Rich is our staple food. It grows in plenty in Bangladesh, India, Srilanka, Myanmar, Japan and in many other countries of the world. There are many kinds of rice. But the chief varieties are Aus, Amon and Boro. Amon is superior in quality and grows in plenty in our country. The Amon is sown in the month of Ashar and Sravan. It is reaped in kartic. The Aus grows on high land. It is sown in the month of Baishak and is reaped in Bhadra. The Boro grows in marshy places where water stands till the winter season. It is sown in winter and reaped in spring. At present a new variety of rich called IRRI is being cultivated. It grows fifty to sixty mounds per acre. Rice is of two kinds-Atap and Siddha. Various kinds of delicious foods are prepared from rice.
