There are two classes of labours. One is physical and other is mental. Book writing, teaching, studying, legal practice, planning and file workers are mental labour. Such labours need powerful thinking and imagination. It does not need much physical labour. Agricultural workers, smithy, pottery, carpentry etc are physical labour. It needs much labour. Both the labours are closely connected with each other.
Society can enjoy the fruits of manual labour. We cannot get food, cloth, shelter and other necessary things without labour. The laboures are the backbone of development. Labour keeps our body fit and workable. It also builds our body strong and stout. It helps digestion of food and circulation of blood.
Dighity lies in honesty, faithfulness, sincerity and responsibility. So manual labour should not make a man low. It earns dignity for the labourers.
All the great men of the world earned their livelihood by the sweat of their brow. Here we can remember the Emperor Nasiruddin who maintained his family with the sewing caps and copying the holy Quran. So we find that although he was and emperor, he did not hesitate to give much importance to the dignity of labour.
Labour either physical or mental has its dignity, no doubt. No development can be expected without it. The prosperous countries present this example. So we all must be laborious to succeed in life.
