Almost every person has to work to earn his or her livelihood. If he/she sits idly and does not do any work, he/she will starve as a result of which he/she may die. So, work is life, work is religion that brings happiness and prosperity. However, there is a garment worker in our locality who is about 19 years old. She has to work heard to earn her livelihood.

She wakes up very early in the morning. Taking some stale rice she has to go to the factory. She goes to the factory on foot. She has to pass a long way everyday to reach the factory. She being tired and exhausted has to do her own work in the factory.

After working about 7 hours, she gets an interval to take lunch. She has to eat lunch in a roadside hotel in which foods are dirty though cheap. After taking lunch, she has to come back to the factory at the scheduled time and begins to work restlessly.

It is a matter of sorrow that though she works hard, she is d evaluated. Everyday she has to work about 12 hours.

She gets a very poor salary. So she expends it very wisely. She has opened a bank account. This is the savings account. She saves some money in the bank every month. She has a long cherished desire to be established by herself by setting up a poultry farm.

In fine, we can say that she is working tirelessly. She has to earn money very hard. She does not feel in doing such a restless work. She wants to survive happily by working. But she is deprived of this. Sometimes she screams but there is no profit of screaming in the wilderness.

Town life means living in a town. Industrial- station has given birth to town. So goes the proverb, “God made the villages and men made the town.” So towns are flourished and industrially developed.

The British imperialists have founded towns in our country. They have set up towns for industrial station. Hence industrial towns sprang up here and there. Thy also set up offices and administration.

Town life is attractive. There are educational institutions, public Libraries, Zoos, Museums and other amenities. A man can easily earn his livelihood living in the town. So town life is very popular now-a –days. Life in a town is comfortable in many ways. There are beautiful and comfortable buildings to live in. Communication system is developing day by day. There are other facilities like modern shopping mall, cinema hall, modern hospital etc in a town. All these have made town life secure and comfortable. People can enjoy the facilities of electronic machines, telephones, electric light, fans, cookers etc. With the increase of population business center have grown up. These centers have been developed much with the development of industries.

Town life has disadvantages too. It is very complex and difficult. People become cheats finding no legal source of income. They often become drunkards. Sometimes road become dirty and various kinds of diseases spread out and life becomes dull. Town people are stone-hearted and self-centered. They do not find interest to meet their neighbors.

With all its defects and disadvantages town life is more popular. Law enforcing authority should take necessary steps to control anti-social elements in the towns.

Rural development means the development of the villages. Bangladesh has 68 thousand villages. These are her never-centers. Hence the development and prosperity entirely depend on the development of these villages.

Before the advent of the British the people of Bangladesh lived happily and peacefully. Then they could grow food as they required. They were self-sufficient in all respects.

With the beginning of the British, downfall in very walk of life began. They exploited us ruthlessly. They bound to live a poor, an unhappy and a peace less life. Since then Bangladesh has become one of the begging countries in the world. But in point of fact, we expected, after the independence, to see or find people living peacefully. But their fate remains still unchanged.

Bangladesh has to face a lot of problems. First, attention should be paid to the health of people. With this end in view, proper medical facilities should be given to the suffering people. Emphasis on the system of agriculture should be given. For this, cultivators should be trained in scientific methods of cultivation so that can grow more crops as the country needs. Again illiteracy should be removed. The Govt. should extend its hand to the noble cause of these distressed and neglected people. For this, more secondary and primary schools should be set up and the qualified teachers should be appointed there. The illiterate villagers should be taught reading and writing. Communication system is still a problem in rural areas. So, it should be developed. Cottage industries should be revived. Attempts should be made to improve fishery in rural areas.

Mere Utterance of development will not do. We should bring this into reality. So we should go back to the villages to make our country happy and prosperous.
